Blue Green Lantern

Glass Lanterns

Beautiful stained glass lanterns in a variety of designs provide another way to bring colour into the home. Using new skills in assembling hand cut glass, these are a joy to make and receive. Order a bespoke one for £145. Includes battery powered lamp inside.

Enamelled Jewellery

Enamelled Jewellery

A variety of unique 'mini-paintings', ready to wear, created through the process of kiln-firing powdered glass onto copper bases. I love the multi-stage process which combines experimentation with creativity, often with surprising results. Made through a weekly workshop at Riverhouse Barn, Walton.

Stained Glass Panels 2022

Glass Mosaic

I'm delighted to have completed my first large glass mosaic. Comprised of over 750 pieces of hand cut colour and textured glass and tiles, 'Garden of Joy' is a freestyle composition with clusters of flowers and foliage, interspersed with coloured accents. It is a portable piece, 100 x 33 x 1.5cm, and can be propped on a windowsill or suspended from two small holes near the top. It is wonderful to see the colours transform according to the time of day, throwing colour across the room. For sale at £1650. My plan is to make two more at this size, as well as to explore other sizes in the future. It is currently on display and for sale at the pop up gallery in the middle of the Ashley Centre, Epsom.

New Cushions 2022

New Cushions

An exciting new selection of vibrant patterned and floral cushion designs has been added to my range. Cushion covers can now be ordered at two sizes - the standard 43x43 cm or a larger 55x55 cm. Please see the Cushions page for more details.

Carved Oak Hall Chair

Painted Furniture

Chairs make frequent appearances in my paintings and now I am painting actual chairs! My first project is an antique oak hall chair that has exquisite carvings and an unusual seat shape. With the help of Jane at Sheldon Paints in Hampton Hill, I learned how to apply Annie Sloan chalk paints to maximise the depth and detail of the carvings, whilst giving it my own colourful rebranding. This will be shown for the first time at the LIVING Design Exhibtion at the Barbican Library in January 2019. No doubt other projects will follow when I spot other gems at antique markets...! If you would like me to recolour something you own, I would be very happy to have a chat, or why not look out for Jane's workshops and have a go yourself? (Dec 2018)

Steph Wilkinson at the Landmark

Exhibition Review

I received this review from art journalist James Brewer at the Landmark Art Fair in May. It was the first exhibition of 'Bottle Mural' which attracted lots of attention along with the cushions. Despite the visitor lull on Saturday afternoon for the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it was a great weekend! Thank you to everyone who came along. (July 2018)

They are individually hand-drawn making each version unique with its own title. Shown (at left) is 'A Spring Morning' which looks stunning in a bespoke black frame with acid free mount, price £250. The collection is proving popular and I've teamed up with a great local framer to ensure you get the best finished art to hang on your wall. (April 2016)

Working with WWF's youth education team who are raising awareness about the effect of climate change on the species living in the polar regions, a large window installation was produced to help schools and other visitors learn more about this region through art, video and stories. The workshop was part of the annual 'The Big Draw 2015' global drawing festival and took place at their award winning eco building in Woking. Studio Tour – Blog by 'Made By Mrs M'

I love having visitors to the studio and a couple of weeks ago 'Made By Mrs M' spent the morning with me. Owner Kate Marsden is a successful textile designer known especially for her mid-century architectural fabric designs, some of which are currently available at the Royal Academy shop in London. Kate is an avid blogger who shares her passion, knowledge and creative projects with her followers on a regular basis. We chatted about each other's business, shared tips and experiences and finally Kate took some photos of things lying around the studio that she felt you might be interested to see! I hope you'll enjoy the glimpse it offers and that it might inspire you to pick up a paintbrush or visit the studio too. Studio Tour Blog (Feb 2015)

Balloon and Drawing Pins

The Studio's 10th Anniversary

I first moved into my studio in November 2004, when I was in the middle of my degree at Wimbledon. Over the years lots of playful and absorbing experiments have been carried out using everyday objects like balloons covered in drawing pins, flower buds dipped in latex or teddy bears wrapped in brown packing tape. Sketchbooks, photographs, folders with loose drawings, painting jars, old brushes now surround me and consequently I work in a more confined space than when I began! I still love to use objects in my drawings and paintings and enjoy the rich themes of interiors, the home, women and places. Feel free to get in touch any time to come and visit the studio.
